We’re in that hectic run up to Christmas.

If you’re feeling stressed or a bit overwhelmed with all you have to do, try this simple breathing exercise – box breathing. It can be done pretty much anywhere and will help you find your inner calm.

Visualise a box. Start at the bottom of the box and imagine going up one side as you breathe in for four seconds. Hold your breath for four seconds as you imagine going across the top of the box. Breathe out for four seconds as you go down the other side of the box. Hold for four seconds as you go across the bottom of the box and back to your starting point. Start the cycle again.

Repeat the cycle 7 to 10 times and notice how much calmer and relaxed you feel.
